Pyrenees Mountains

The Pyrenees, which essentially divide Spain and France, are a spectacular mountain range of soaring peaks, deep valleys, dense forests, alpine villages, plunging ravines, diverse wildlife and picturesque meadows of wildflowers. The region of Navarra nestles up against the the western part of the Pyrenees mountains, so it's only natural that outdoor pursuits are a regional highlight for locals and visitors alike.

No matter what time of year it is, the Pyrenees mountains always serve up a slew of exciting adventures, activities and experiences. During the winter months, the snow-covered Pyrenees are ideal for all sorts of fun in the snow, ranging from cross-country and downhill skiing to snowboarding, snowshoeing and even rides on dog-sleds.

Hike, horseback-ride or mountain-bike the scores of trails that traverse the mountains once the snow melts, or get your feet wet with kayaking, rafting or fishing excursion.
